Thankfully, Halloween parties or get-togethers with a few friends can happen again this year. But in addition to creepy costumes and proper decorations, a good buffet is by no means allowed Halloween party absence! And “good” here means above all: in keeping with the Halloween theme, this means looking as scary, disgusting as possible – but still delicious! To the classics creepy finger food includes: sausage shaped like fingers and decorated with bloody ketchup; a bowl of eyeballs (they come in the form of gummy bears or you can use lychees); Pumpkin or ghost cookies with cute decorations… And of course: Mummy sausages. Here’s how you can do it quickly and easily.
Recipe for Halloween: mummy sausages
Basically, mummy sausages are just sausages in a dressing – in this case, a skewer. Therefore, the recipe is very quick and easy. For eight mummy sausages you will need the following items:
- 1 package of yogurt dough from the cooled part
- 1 tsp mustard
- 8 sausages (Wiener, poultry, bockwurst or vegetarian)
- 16 peppercorns

Mummy Sausage Recipe: Spooky Halloween Finger Food
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C fan/fan or 180 °C fan.
- Roll out the pastry and cut lengthwise into eight finger-width strips.
- Then wrap the strips of yogurt dough around the sausages. Leave space at the top for the mummies’ eyes.
- Place the mummy sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
- Leave the sausages to cool briefly in the dressing. Then make eyeballs out of two small seeds of mustard and peppercorns.
- Creepy Mummy Sausages are delicious both hot and chilled at the cold buffet.
