Greek snack: Toasted olives with almonds

The perfect snack for a mild summer evening: Grilled olives with almonds from Greece.

Today we are simply extending our vacation. Roasted olives with almonds served with a glass of sparkling wine. Goodbye, we are in Greece!

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • For olives:
  • 1 jar green olives with almonds (225 g)
  • 1 egg
  • some bread crumbs
  • some wheat flour
  • 250 ml neutral vegetable oil for frying
  • Sour cream and garlic for the dip
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 onion
  • Salt and pepper

And this is how it is done:


  1. For the dip: Place sour cream in a bowl. Peel the garlic and rub it on the sour cream. Stir in the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper. Wash the mushrooms and cut into thin rolls.
  2. For the Roasted Olives: Drain and pat dry the stuffed olives. Beat the egg in a bowl. Divide the breadcrumbs and wheat flour between two plates. Dip the olives first in the wheat flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat the oil in a small tall pot. Using a slotted spoon, dip the olives into the hot oil and fry for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Remove the olives and drain on kitchen paper. Then serve with the dip on a pretty appetizer platter and garnish with leeks.


It was amazing how easy it was, wasn’t it? The crispy snack brought from Greece was on the table in just 15 minutes. Then the roasted olives with almonds are also very tasty. Especially in the summer months, we enjoy the small delicacies of the Mediterranean cuisine.


Our favorite is the fast food kitchen. So, even after a stressful day, you can prepare wonderful meals for the table. For example, Italian-inspired mozzarella rolls with tomatoes and ham are delicious and low-carb. Aromatic pizza bites are always a hit. They are finger foods at their best. Of course, like stuffed grape leaves, we are indebted to the Greeks.
