Currently, the cake is also available in a mini version: the product called “Boston Cream” is also a very popular donut chain – and not just a fairly well-known franchise.

In the video, we show you step by step how to bake the cake yourself:

By the way: If there is no time to bake a large loaf of bread, then there is also an option that saves a lot of time. Ready-made biscuit bases can be bought in the supermarket – also with two bases in a package. Just buy this version and use the ready made version for the pudding. Boston Cream Pie can be made this way too – and in just 15 minutes. Just incredible!

preparation

  1. In the first step, beat the eggs with the sugar until very creamy. Now add salt and flour and mix until a smooth dough is obtained.

  2. Grease a spring form (diameter 26 cm) and pour the dough, then smooth it. Place the cake in the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the pastry is a nice light brown. Then remove the cake from the mold, cut it in half crosswise and leave it to cool.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Put the cold milk in a saucepan and whisk it with the other ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the pudding thickens. Remove from heat, cover with foil and refrigerate for two hours.

  4. 20 minutes before the end of the cooling time, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. For the glaze, chop the chocolate and melt it in a water bath. Mix the cream and butter until you get a smooth glaze.

  5. Now take two layers of dough and spread the bottom layer generously with pudding. Place the second sheet of pastry on top and pour the glaze over the cake. The chocolate is ideal if it runs down the sides a little. Cool the Boston Cream Pie and then serve. Good!
